Amie Marks, founder of Women in the Know, is now embarking on a new year of her highly popular series of women’s seminars. Launched in May 2013, Marks continues to offer women a platform to connect, teach and learn by way of a series of discussions and complimentary luncheons to speak openly about world issues, current events, and timely topics.

The 2015 kick-off March 13th and 19th luncheons will piggyback on a highly successful November 2014 series about teenage mental health and segway into emotional wellness for adults. The topic will be “Emotional and Physical Wellness – How our personal wellbeing can benefit our families, our careers and our relationships.” Marks says “I see the need to openly discuss emotional wellness in our community and feel that this is the perfect forum to have women open up and really help each other.”

These two events will occur:
• Friday, March 13th in Lake Forest at Lake Forest Club (554 N. Westmoreland Dr.) and
• Wednesday, March 19th in Forest Park at Café De Luca (7427 Madison St.).

Both lunches are held from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.

In May and June, Marks turns the tables to cover financial issues, approaching financial planning topics by helping women understand and take control of their family’s financial future. Women account for 85% of all consumer purchases, including everything from autos to healthcare. Marks wants to give them tools to manage their financial future in the face of these decisions. She will offer attendees an exciting and interactive financial program that they can integrate into their daily lives.

These sessions will take place:
• May 21st and June 18th in Lake Forest at the Lake Forest Club (554 N. Westmoreland Dr.)
• May 20th and June 17th in Forest Park at Café De Luca (7427 Madison St.)

Marks says “I think it’s time to bring our discussions back into my wheelhouse. In this series, I am going to prove to the women that economics is not boring, the financial planning process need not be intimidating, and that investing can be fun!”

Also coming this summer, Amie will partner with area libraries to bring financial concepts to children. Her new program, called Super $averz will strive to teach young children the importance and power of saving money, along with other financial tips for kids. She will use games and hands-on lessons to get children interested in money and finance, and will offer take-home fun for the families.
